Rose cut gemstones originated sometime in the 1500's, and were commonly used through
the Georgian and Victorian eras. In that time, gemstones were cut by hand, and rose cut
stones were meant to sparkle and dance under the lighting of the time, which was
candlelight. The stones' larger and wider wide facets would reflect the candlelight exquisitely,
