Inspired by the inscriptions found in poesy rings, this unique hidden message necklace is a reminder of how both love and faith are intertwined.
Handcrafted from lightly oxidized sterling silver, the locket’s cover is set with a Gothic-style cross. Upon opening the locket, its secret message "ubi amor ibi fides," Latin for "where there is love there is faith," is revealed. Locket suspends from a vintage-style 18-inch sterling silver chain.
My secret message lockets hold secret poesy (poetry) messages that are known only to the one who gives it, and to the one who wears it. They are inspired by the popular courtship manners that date back to the 5th through 15th centuries when it became popular for brides and grooms to engrave hidden romantic phrases, on the inside of what were known as poesy rings.
